Hello and welcome. I am so glad that you are here.
My name is Lorna but, many years ago, my best friends started calling me Loree. We are all in our 40s now (it's amazing how time flies) but the name has stuck. So I will be Loree in the blogosphere too.
I live in the Mediterranean, on the small island of Malta, with my American husband and our son. After we were married in 2003, I moved to Chesterfield which is 30 minutes outside St Louis (MO), but we moved back to Malta a year later.
Malta has a rich and varied history that goes back thousands of years but myths and legends abound and they are always an endless source of inspiration.
Reading, writing and photography are my passions and my head is full of stories that I don't have the time to write. Maybe, someday, I will. But for now, I write here. Sincerely, Loree is my third blog. I previously authored another two: Stories and Scribbles and Snapshots of an Island.
I constantly suffer from an extreme case of wanderlust and I have to restrain myself from answering the call of this particular siren. As Anais Nin so famously said:
"We travel, some of us forever, to seek other places, other lives, other souls".
Like so many others, I am still searching for those places, lives and souls and I look for them wherever I go - whether my destination is a vibrant city like London or a melancholic ruin like Glastonbury Abbey.

I love hiking; red, fuchsia and turquoise (and all their variants); black coffee; dark chocolate (of which I eat way too much); baking; and fluffy socks at bedtime. Boots and sandals are my weakness but I can generally resist shoes.
I adore the NW wind that we call il-Majjistral; grey skies and rough seas; golden sunsets; walled cities and winding streets. I am a spinner of tales and a weaver of dreams; a thinker but not much of a talker.
In this life I am many things: a wife, a mother, a daughter, a dreamer, a hopeless romantic, an endless contradiction.
I hope you will join me on this journey of self-discovery.
Lorrie, I click on your recent blog post. The link only goes to your home page, no blog post. I don't know the category to find it.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes from Anne Marie.....ex- colleague...ex-neighbour...ex- Dorothean like you. Reading your profile....we have any things in common actually 🙂
